March 23 BEWARE OF WEBSITES THAT PROMOTE CONNINGFrank Abagnale was a good con artist, however, he did NOT spend 35 years conning other people. Besides that he went to the FBI side to avoid going to prison. THE DON JUAN OF CON spent 35 plus years conning people, he is still doing it, even from prison. My blog talks about con artists, and some of them have been doing these fraud crimes for years. I am NOT PRAISING THEM, but WARNING VICTIMS.
AS for your comment, I WILL NOT ADVOCATE FOR A WEBSITE THAT TEACHES OTHERS TO CON....IT IS promoting criminal activity, and frankly as a victim, I am against it. Therefore I deleted your website link you left on my blog. Sorry, I just don't promote people learning to victimize other people. You say you are the best con artist there is, why promote that you are and why say you can teach others about con men. I see you are wanting to capitailize on victims. Once a criminal always a criminal. With one exception: Frank Abagnale helped the FBI.
CRIMES ARE CRIMES and should be treated as such. March 17 Signatures on PetitionThose of you, who have signed the petition, have commented on your situation. It is heartbreaking to hear that so many are victims of these predators.
Bigamy is a sex crime and those that commit it should be listed as a sexual predator, for they prey on the hearts of their victims.
However, the judicial system does treat these crimes and even the fraud crimes with a cavilier air. "We are victims of a so called victimless
crime." I do not see victims as NOT a victim. Far too often we are left emotional bereft, traumatized by the games the predator plays. Yes the predator is playing games, they torture, they harass, and they lie lie lie lie their way out of a situation of their doing. They leave chaos
behind, and the victims struggle to get justice, help and do get ridiculed.
Some victims are left homeless, financially destitute. (The majority of the victims that I have met have had financial difficulties due to their predators because what these predators do is use of money the victims have.
If we get enough signatures perhaps we can convince Congress that we need to stop the stem of this fraud. It is the fastest rising crime, of identity theft, fraud and romancing the stone so to speak. These people get away with it time after time.
We need a way for the Social Security Administration to put flag alerts on social security numbers, and marriages being repetitive among a person. We need the National Database of Marriages and Divorces. Granted it may not catch everyone, but I guarantee you it will catch those that marry over and over again.
The marriage clerks take peoples word for their being divorced, just like in my case, Barber showed another divorce degree from a different marriage, with a different name....of both groom and bride, and the marriage clerk did not catch that early enough.
He had another victim again. He is a pro at this as are others that have done the crimes. Far too many people are have no way of checking out whether their intended are telling the truth. This is a global society and the crimes are widespread. I guess it seems a little polly-annish to hope that someone in government will take notice that the criminals seem to get away with their crimes. In reality, they even get three free meals, and free tv, and free utilities, and perks. Some have access to computers, free education, and other things. We need to understand that this system does not work.
In my opinion, the warden in Arizona has it right! They should eat bologna sandwiches, and they should pay for their things in prison, and they should work in the chain gangs. Prison should not be an 'ivory' tower. We should take away the tv, the free essentials, and make these criminals feel they are in prison. That is my opinion. I just feel that the punishment isn't punishment enough when they break the laws.
Far too often these people commit fraud and other crimes do not get enough punishment!
I have since learned that it is so very hard for the average honest citizen to lead an good life without the hassles. It used to be in the old days back when I was a very young child, that a handshake, your word went a long way. Now it is not. It doesn't matter. Too many people have no conscience, and no qualms about too many other things. There used to be a right and wrong. What happened to marriages that meant between one man and one woman, until death do you part? Now it seems to most people that marriage is something not to take to heart. Marriage should be a sacred bond between a man and a woman that truly love each other. It should not be made a mockery of.
I don't know if I am disillusioned about life, but I am finding it harder and harder to find decent people that are really who they say they are.
Good luck in stopping your predators; those that have journeyed onto a path not of your own making. Choices are harder and harder to make.
We need something to stop this! Please help by signing the petition, telling your story, and making a big noise. We will be heard. Thank you for signing, the Petition for a National Database of Marriages and Divorces. March 10 More on GI JERKAugust 17, 2006The Return of G.I. JerkFiled under: Cover Story
Is this Phil Haberman’s real military ID or a phony, like the man pictured on it? Phony Special Forces soldier Phil Haberman, the self-proclaimed war hero who was anything but, is still out there spinning his stories on MySpace and dating sites. And he’s tangled with Greensickle, a blog whose motto is “cutting down the leftist onslaught on American patriotism, one coffee-shop-poet at a time”; it’s taking credit for getting Haberman’s MySpace site deleted. Greensickle was created by a California mortgage broker named Eric, who says he served in the 82nd Airborne, and his longtime buddy David, a law school student in Austin. There’s lots of military and anti-left musings, but Greensickle also outs military imposters on its “Stolen Valor” section. Scroll down and check out their exchanges with, in their words, “urinal cake and deranged sociopath” Haberman. Kristen Rhoad, Haberman’s ex-wife, is now in law school, but she’s still so pissed off she created a blog called The Rhoad Warrior to keep up pressure on the Army to prosecute Haberman, who received his second “other than honorable” discharge after our story. It’s highly unlikely that the military will press charges against Haberman, but Rhoad is nothing if not persistent. She points out that Haberman has posted on several dating Web sites under the names ScubaPhil and Oceanluvnguy and insists he is still conning other women who find him “pleasant and helpful” and has posted everything from copies of his military ID to photos of him with a woman who has come to Haberman’s defense. Haberman also now claims to have re-enlisted in the military–only this time in the Air Force. “This story makes me really sad,” posts an old friend under the name “Anonymous” on Greensickle. “I knew Philip as a kid and I can tell you he always had emotional and behavioral problems. He was on medication. I wish someone out there could get him the help he really needs.” Those he has ripped off may wish him a different fate. –Glenna Whitley March 08 Once a Predator always a Predator: THEY ALWAYS CLAIM INNOCENCEHow is it that criminals and the judicial system seem to go hand in hand. How can one really believe a sociopathic predator that has a history of comitting fraud?
Some victims continue to get harrassed by their predators, and they take advantage of the system.
Here on my blog I have told about stories other than mine, so that other victims of similar predators can recognize the signs of a predator and perhaps Not become a victim themselves.
Here is an update on one predator that also has stolen valor from our military men. If you want to check out whether or not any person stating they were in the military, you should go to POWNETWORK.ORG. They can tell you if this person was telling the truth about their military background.
Phil Haberman is such a man. He is a bigamist, and a con artist. He is an internet predator, that meets women online with his ads.
Here is the link to the story: http://fightbigamy.typepad.com/my_weblog/2005/11/gi_jerk.html
He is such a GI JERK, because he embellishes his military background. He went so far as to torment his ex-wife who used her First Amendment Rights to talk about her experiences to warn other potential victims by going to a court in Florida. She lives in California. I have never heard where another state can have jurisdiction over another state. This is a travesty! Her first Amendment Rights have been violated. Judge Bennett of Florida Family Court has ordered her to remove any story or name of Phil Haberman from any and all websites whether she had
created them or not. She was sued for exposing a fraud and telling the truth!
She has never lived in Florida but how can she be subject to Florida State laws? She is a
paralegal and as she pointed out to me and others, she knows better than that.
She refused to remove her Blog (Haberman sent the same email to Google and they
removed her Blog) and she was cited for failure to appear and comply with the
Florida State order. Yes, a warrant has been issued in Florida for her
arrest. She is seeking legal ramifications against Google for removing her
Blog, Judge Bennett and Haberman in US District Court. Apparently, Haberman
and the Judge seem to think they can rule the world with the Florida State
Order. Cyberstalking is a Florida statute, and was misapplied to her Blog
case.
The order is a Florida State order. It has no jurisdiction in any other
state, nor does it have jurisdiction over the internet. To have any story
removed about Haberman would have to be heard in the US District Court in
Washington, DC and defamation would have to be proven.
Haberman also sent a threatening email to Sandra Phipps of Fight Bigamy. He told her she was violating the law in publishing his and his ex-wife's story.
His story is public notice: it has been on the Oprah Show, and in the Dallas newspaper. It has not just one victim, but many others.
What I keep seeing in these stories, that these predators feel they are above the law. They continue to play their cons and their games to the detriment of others.
To read more about the story about Haberman: you can go to Kristen's blog. The victims are the real victims here, do NOT believe the predator, for they always claim they are the wronged one here, and they are not.

She spotted her blind date right away: the clean-cut guy in the black T-shirt that said Special Forces. Kristen Rhoad had first come into contact with Phil Haberman on MATCH.com in December 2003. One screen name he favored was 19thSFguy--an allusion to his role in Army Special Forces. A self-described adrenaline junkie who loved everything from "skydiving to swimming with sharks," Haberman listed his income as $50,000 to $75,000 a year and claimed he didn't party, smoke or drink. He sounded honorable, manly, stable. Guess what...he's not! Other women met Haberman through Match.com or other dating sites. After his return, he updated his "OceanLuvnGuy" profile on MilitarySingles.com, checking "single; never been married" and adding: "I was wounded in Iraq and have a lot of free time on my hands now. I'm healing up from my wounds...and am currently with Army Special Forces." That's how Bonny Bentley met him. "He was complaining, 'no one's come to see me, my family has disowned me,'" says Bentley, a successful 42-year-old woman who lives in Atlanta. Feeling sorry for him, Bentley flew to Fort Bragg in October 2004 for the weekend. When Haberman picked her up at the airport, he was limping and looked pitiful. "He was very wounded abdominally," Bentley said. "His prostate was torn. He was in bad shape." But his wounds didn't preclude romance. Bentley ruefully admits she had sex with him. Though he had a billet in a hotel on base, Haberman lived in a nice house with a pool that he and a female roommate rented in Fayetteville. "He didn't want the military to know he wasn't living on base," Bentley says. As the weekend progressed, Haberman told her he was going through a horrible annulment and was being prosecuted for AWOL because his wife had complained to his commander. Could he borrow $5,000 for attorney's fees? "I felt sorry for him," Bentley says. "Here's this poor soldier wounded in Iraq, and the military was doing him a great injustice." She wired him the money the next week. But when Bentley e-mailed Haberman a request to sign a statement saying he would pay the money back, he turned on her in anger, saying she was "just like all the rest." He ended all contact, Bentley says. In early August, Bentley filed a lawsuit against Haberman for fraud. Bentley says, "I can't believe I fell for this shit."
