UPDATE: The fight bigamy group suggested that I continue to get signatures, and that the surveys get sent out and returned, and included with the petition. I agree if we can back up the fact there are indeed scienctific proof, then the government will take us more seriously. Those of us that have gone to government officials and so forth to get justice have often been laughed at. So please continue to keep signing. For all those that have already signed, and we h ave a bunch, thank you thank you. I went to print out the Petition, and it stated that I needed money, since I had fewer than 2500 signatures. If I ask for 1,298 more signatures, it will not cost me a dime to print out the petition. At least 100 stamps is 43.00 dollars, and since this is coming out of my pocket, I have to do this a little at a time. I am not a wealthy person, and am just finally getting back on my feet financially after nine years of havoc wrecked on me by Barber.  Please be patient with me, I am going to mail out as many copies as I can  per payday.   I have to wait now to get the money to get a clean copy of the petition printed so that I can send the hard copy to each of the Representatives. The first one that I will send it too, is the President. Then the senators that have shown an interest, and then to the rest of the Congress. I am sorry about this taking so long. I said that I would start mailing it, however, the surveys are not all in, the victims of bigamists should go to the FIGHT BIGAMY site and inquire about how to get a survey sent to you, so that we have more data that this type of crime is NOT RARE. It isn't a crime that needs to continue to be ignored  So please KEEP SIGNING THE PETITION>

 We are clearly getting close to the finish line for the signatures and then I start my mail in blitz to Congress.  I want to wait until  the Bigamy surveys are all in and hope that I get a better response from Obama  than I did from President Bush which was nothing. Here's to the promise of change and this petition gets passed as a law. United as in voice,  we will be victims no longer.

We have enough  signatures for the petition to be sent to Congress., but I am still allowing people to sign.  . We have a new Congress starting with a new President that promises Change.  Although I appreciate support, some people want to  develop their own petition without doing the necessary work that is needed.  We have done the research and we have contacted other websites that promote awareness against bigamy and sociopathic  people who prey on others. It is not our intention to seek glory or fame. We worked hard on this and have asked that others raise their voices united with us. Please be wary of other websites that take content without permission and tout their horns in regards to another petition. This petition has been talked about in the Congressional Records, and Senators, and Representatives are aware of the petition. We need the neccessary signatures for them to say ok, we will see about passing the bill for a National Database of Marriages and Divorces.  There is NO extra tax involved in this as someone erroneously stated on her site and in comments. We have done extensive research before we developed this petition, and I asked other victims for support. The Fight Bigamy Group, LoveFraud Group, Cyberpath group, and others have contributed to this petition. Together victims can help change the law. That is what we are hoping for. SIGNATURES NEEDED PLEASE SIGN

It is a travesty that this crime of bigamy is the hardest one to prosecute. This crime affects a whole family, friends and anyone that their victims and the criminal knows. It is ridiculous that victims have to prove they are the innocents when the guilty get off with very little consequences for the fraud, and lies they told to others. Somehow, we need those signatures to show Congress that victims of crimes are not going to take being laughed at, and told that nothing can be done, although this is a FELONY in some states. There is a need to make this a felony at the National Level, and punishable by more than 6 years in Prison. These predators continue to prey on other victims and they do so:  some do it for years because the consequence was almost nil. My ex did not use his real name for 35 years, and when on parole he skipped out of state, committing another identity fraud and conned another person, and all he served was 10 months due the the fact that where he was bigamy was not a felony. This is ridiculous and if enough victims band together we can be taken seriously. PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION  We need your voice.

Not all states see bigamy as a felony, and it is a shame that so many con artists take advantage of innocent people, and committ fraud.  We need this petition to get noticed. The more signatures the better that Congressional Representatives will listen. PLEASE PLEASE help victims have a voice. Sign the Petition.  The Victims are increasing in their voices to let themselves heard. It would be a shame if the bigamy laws do not change. It helps prevent those that commit polygamy, bigamy, identity theft, fraud from harming families. Not just the victim but countless people. Crime should not be rewarded but punished. Good people should not be made fun of when trying to report a crime. I remember that I was told not to be so gullible by a detective when I reported what Barber did to me. Barber had a rap sheet a mile long, and I didn't have one,  yet I was ridiculed. We need to change the laws so that victims can feel closure. It is so hard to make a difference when so many people just do not want to be involved. We need more people to be involved so that this crime does not pay for those that commit it.

I set the new limit of signatures, we are up to 1080 signatures, and I want to try to get 2500 which is just 420 more. This shows that there are TOO MANY Victims out there, and NOT ENOUGH JUSTICE.
