On July 17, 2006 our quest for a database of marriages and divorces was written about in the Congressional Quarterly. It is a good article and does state that in order to prevent fraud we need something. So very little is being done in lieu of people not getting divorces and then getting married again. It is a crime but it is a hard crime to get persecuted on.

Please help us in our quest to stop others from becoming one statistic of a 'victimless' crime as this is called. It is not a victimless crime: it hurts a family, and countless others the predator comes in contact with. Bigamists are more than likely those that prey on victims for sex, money, and to live a lie of a life. They have no remorse for the fraud they perpetuate, and they are oftentimes repeat offenders.

Please help us curtail identity theft, fraud, and bigamy. Let's make our laws really count. Help someone NOT become a victim of a con man or con woman.

This resource would have been great if I knew about it when he left me. It would have saved me a lot of grief. I had taken other steps to avoid this happening to me in the future. Check it out, it could help save you a lot of financial problems and stop someone else from using your social security number. The number of cons that do this is endless. There are more dishonest people than honest people. Good Luck.

The National Database for Marriages and Divorces

There is also a nice article in the Congressional Quarterly about what myself and my Fight Bigamy group owner Sandra Phipps are doing. Her fight Bigamy has helped countless victims. When this happened to me I did not have a support group, nor did I know what resources to turn to. I started my blog with my RainbowIllusions site, and through poetry found solace, however not justice.

My story make National News: Dateline, Inside Edition, Current Affair, Good morning America, Montel, MSNBC,and NY POST, and other newspapers.

There was little hope for those that are victims of con men. In order to help other victims, I joined the Fiighting Bigamy Group, I found my support system. I also learned more than I had already known.

So I wrote the petition for a National database for marriages and divorces. NOT a registry for bigamy offenders since that will not work, some con men/women are so adept at charnging their identites that this would not work.

This National database for Marriages and Divorces will tie into the SSN Database and it will be National thus cutting down on fraud and identity theft along with bigamy.

Our group is making gains by the publicity and getting victims and others to support us in our quest to help stop crime, and prevent others becoming a victim.

I will support the websites that are on my blog, and Fight Bigamy and Love Fraud, and Cyberpaths because they support what we as a collective group are trying to do. I do not support cyber bullies that steal emails and then write nasty emails to our group or to me as an individual.

I refuse to allow someone to abuse me like that. I know what my name is and it is not RICHARDS.

I needed to write this. Some people are against a Database that will save taxpayers money. It will prevent the government from losing money from the fastest growing crime in America. It doesn't recognize boundaries of countries, race, or economic status. Anyone can be a victim, young, old, middle age.

These predators are most often surfing the internet for their next victim. They even date for long periods of time before they 'settle' on a victim.

We have a National database for sexual predators for those that prey on children, yet everyone hollers at the thought of a National Database for marriages and divorces. This database will include those predators that sexually manipulate their victims for monetary gains: the bigamists and yes, the pologamists. If it wasn't illegal why was a prominent pologamist put on the FBI's MOST WANTED FILE.

Let's face it, we are a new society where we travel and do things more than our parents had done in the 50's. We are connected to the world and are a global society. We are using the internet for everything.

We need a global solution to a growing crime. Marriage should be one union, not a person that married more than one person at a time and kept it secret to the persons they married. That is Illegal!

The Judicial System is Manipulated by Predators!

It is becoming apparent to me that the National Database of Marriages and Divorces is a must in this country. All too often the bigamists disregard the state lines. I had a vague understanding that crossing the state lines to commit a crime is a felony. In this case it raises the issue of how easy it is to cross the state lines and commit felonies.

I have listened and heard so many victims' stories. The refrain seems to be the same, there is resemblence in all of our stories, each one of the bigamists, con artists crossed the state lines. The cyber predators cross all state lines and even international boundaries. It is a crime that is hard to stop.

We Need the National Database of Marriages and Divorces in order for it not to be so easy for identities to be changed at will.

I found out that my ex browsed the death records, and obtained social security numbers. He was also friends with illegal immigrants and did buy the social security number off of one that was being deported.He bought that social security number while he was in prison in TX, and that is a scary thought! He used that one when he was with me.

We need to have this Database, and have it tie into the social security database. This would help curtail the misuse of social security numbers, and also the marriages without benefit of divorce...from happening.

Our system is not working and we need to find a better way. This National Database will help ensure that NO more 'victimless' crimes occur as we are viewed.

Far too many people are getting conned. It isn't just someone who did not have an education, but also people from all walks of life. This crime has no bias against who is the victim!

These predators do pick their victims and they manipulate the system to get away with as little prison time, and the system also helps them!

I should know, Barber was allowed to plea bargain down serious charges that would have netted him years in prison, for a measly 3 years by pleading guilty to falsifying marriage records, and he only had to serve 8 months. A newspaper quoted the DA stating that HE did time for his crimes, and should not be given a long sentence! Good grief, he is a repeat offender, that means he will do this over and over again. Why do the DA's in many states not pursue these criminals? We are not consider victims. We are conned out of money, lied to, by these people using false identities, and or variations of their names, and we are left with the financial mess, and the emotional trauma they inflicted on ourselves and our families.

It is a frustrating battle that victims have to fight in order to find justice. I have not found justice for myself, but if this petition is going to be noticed, and I can go before Congress to make it a fact, that would mean more to me than anything. I would be able to help one more person NOT be a victim of these predators.
