August 20 BIGAMISTS ALWaYS SEEM TO GET AWAY WITH JUST A SLAP ON THE HANDSI guess I could say that I am tired of seeing in the news that bigamists get away with a slap on the hands. What I am tired of is
ignorant people, who always want to blame the victim.
Funny how that happens? It isn't funny when victims who are fighting the good fight: ie. stopping someone else from being a vicitm of crime can be slandered and called names by the ignorant public.
The people that support bigamy must be getting worried. It appears that their world is going to come crashing down on them! Interesting. Anway,
those that call names are bullies, either way you look at it they are bullies! Those that commit these crimesof bigamy are called sociopaths. They prey on victims behind a neat little cocoon they wrapped around themselves. They are too cowardly to show their face. Oh excuse me, their real face. They are so good at putting up this facade that they really don't want the world to see the real them.
The criminal in them, the thief, the liar, the no self-esteem person they are. People who want to continue to blame the victim go right ahead, some day, due the the rate this crime is happening, it will happen to you. That is a cold hard fact. If it doesn't happen to you, it will happen to someone in your family, or your community that you know.
The victims are in for a rocky ride, because authorities do not want to waste their time pursuing this matter. It is a sad fact in our country. So person who called a victim ugly names and wrote ugly hate mail, KNOW THIS: YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW. It is an offense to offend another person, whether in person to their face, or via the internet. You put yourself in the same shoes as the predators that prey on victims. THe Petition for a National Database of Marriages and Divorces is a must in this country. We need to have something that will help save the public from predators that steal identities or change their name at their whim. We need protection. THis costs the government a lot of money in tax dollars, and I for one would rather have my tax dollars spent on something that will help others not become a victim of a predator.
I am tired of these bigamists getting only a slap on the wrist. But at least one has to serve 15 years, and that isn't because he committed bigamy, it is because he altered a government document. Gee, and the predator that I knew only served 10 months. Go figure.
To Sandra, Fighter, and Donna, keep up the good fight. We shall overcome all the obstacles in our way. These kinds of stories are everywhere, situations are similar, but different. The devastation and the trauma are hurtful. The trust of others is gone, and has to be rebuilt.
Don't stay a victim, raise your voice. Please sign the petition for a NATIONAL DATABASE OF MARRIAGES AND DIVORCES.
Congress will hear and change the laws if we band together.
