September 29 http://www/ice.govThe Government has published this article on their website. Now you will see all the more a reason for the NATIONAL DATABASE of MARRIAGES and DIVORCES.
19 arrested in major marriage and immigration fraud scheme
September 27 The TV show MY HUSBANDS THREE WIVESI watched some of the TV show : MY HUSBAND'S THREE WIVES, and I just couldn't understand why these women would marry this one egotistical man. All aware of each other, and yet no mention of the crime of bigamy being charged on him let alone the other women since they were aware of the first wife.
I for one think this is what is wrong with our country. SO many people can get away with marrying people when they are already married.
I am more certain, that a national marriage database along with stricter enforcement of marriage laws should be in place. We need to revamp the weak laws and gray areas of the marriage laws and prosecute those that do commit a felony. It is a shame that bigamy is a felony in only a few states, yet, a lot of the DA's do not want to prosecute.
I don't know folks, I just want to be angered at the ridiculousness of Television showing these kinds of shows such as wifeswap, and this one. What good does it come out of any of this? It shows peoples' feelings do get hurt, and in this country its a matter of continuing allowing people's feelings to be hurt. There is hardly any compassion or decency among most people these days, and that saddens me.
I hope that anyone will understand the situation that victims are in and don't knock them down. They need time to grieve, to rant , to heal and to take action. It is a long process that will take years and years. Some never heal from the things their predator did to them. Nor can it be a forgotten memory. It is with a guarded heart, little trust that we look out on the world.
I am seeing more and more people just don't care. It is a sad world we live in, and I fear for what my grandchildren will go through.
People are cruel and hateful and will just sooner think of their instant gratification needs over compassion for their fellow man.
Don't give up if you are a victim, and keep on keeping on. September 16 CERFYN's Apology may NOT be enoughTo Donna,
I'd like to assure you that I felt the need to apologize for my comments before Sandra asked it of me - they were indeed uncalled for and were written in a way that exposes me as the ugly person. I know that those words are unforgiveable, but I'd like to apologize for them regardless - I became a caricature of hate and revealed myself as immature and hate-filled. I feel horrible that this was ever directed at either you or Sandra, and I feel ill for having said them and ashamed at the impact that these foolish words have had upon undeserving people. They are certainly meaningless as I would never venture to defend them any further - I apologize for their very existence. Cerafyn The above is an apology from a Commentator who used vular and hatefilled comments in regards to myself and the owner of the FIGHT BIGAMY blog. I don't believe that an apology will be enough, since other commentators on that blog went on to tear me to shreds.
These people do not know me, nor do they know what Sandra and I have gone through at the hands of a predator. They use the so-called safety net of the "Free Speech" amendment and the internet to hide behind their predatory and narcissitic comments. The comments on that blog war pornographic and offend me, and many other victims who have been victimize enough.
I printed her apology because Sandra did tell her that she owed all the women she offended an apology. However, granted these bloggers assume they are above the law. They feel that they can get away with calling people vulgar names, and accusing others of being uneducated, due to the fact that they disagree with what view points they have.
I don't expect that my petition for a NATIONAL DATABASE OF MARRIAGES AND DIVORCES would solve the whole solution of a fast growing crime: bigamy, pologamy, identity theft, fraud, and other crimes of passion to stop those crimes in their tracks. However, I do believe that by enabling marriage clerks to unite with PUBLIC RECORDS, in their reach, to see other Public Records in other counties these crimes will be curtailed.
Social Security Numbers are assigned to everyone, and it is a requirement of a citizen of the United States to have one. This database is one that everyone with a valid social security number is in. The government does keep track of their citizens via this social security number.
When someone frauds you, you can put a fraud alert on your social security number. It doesn't prevent someone else from stealing the number, but it will red flag anyone who tries to use your number for fraudulant purposes.
When I proposed the National Database, I knew it would cost some money, but I also feel that if the governments of the counties, states, and the Federal Government tie their records into a cohesive database, those that abuse the system could be caught sooner. I am not looking for the government to fix the experience that happened to me. I went into a relationship totally trusting and did not see the lies, the fraud that this predator put upon me. Sure I could have prevented it if I understood the red flags that were in place. However, I don't profess to be perfect, and I do make mistakes. I do want to add though, that no matter how smart one is, no matter how people savvy one is: YOU CAN STILL BE CONNED. These people can rob you of your integrity, your dignity, your trust, and put you in a tailspin with financial obligations that will strain your pocketbook, and could leave you homeless and penniless.
I should know, I had to live off my friends until I could help myself. I lost my home, and my ability to have credit worthy of being independent. Granted some debts were incurred together as husband and wife, but the bulk of the debts that were left behind for me to cope with were all the predators. He knew what he was doing when he got with me. I was a mark, a way of obtaining easy money and a new way of life with respectability. After all I had a career and a respectable one. One he could climb the ranks of society easily on to con other victims. He is someone who has had 35 years to perfect his con. The judge in court even knew he lied to him!
So due to my experience, I knew that I could not find the resources that would enable me to help me and have found that many victims have a hard time tracking down divorces, marriages, and other pertinent information that should already be public knowledge.
This database is just a way of putting together the already public information, such as marriage license, and divorces. It is also hard to check someone out. If there was a way to stop the fragmented way that our governments kept the public information that would be a help to the marriage clerks. It doesn't violate privacy per se: as the records being compiled are already public information.
It makes sense, to try to find a solution to a growing problem. It also makes sense that it is not a perfect solution.
I just want to help others from not being conned out of their money, their dignity, and their self respect. I made a bad choice and when I needed legal help, not anyone knew what to do. Other than blame me the victim, even though my predator had a criminal record that is extremely long and a pattern of doing this sort of crime.
So the TO THE PEOPLE bloggers who want to continue with the rude, pornographic hate you are predators yourselves.
September 13 TO THE PEOPLE BLOG/ BEING A RACIST IS NOT OKTo the PEOPLE BLOG claim to have the viewpoints of millions of people against the Petition that I wrote for a National Database. However, what most people fail to understand is that this database that I am proposing is NOT an invasive database, it is a database of marriages and divorces. It is not to be considered as a catch all saving grace from a choice one makes in marrying someone.
The state of the matter is that there are far too many predators taking advantage of using false identities and illegal social security numbers to marry someone and fraud them. TO THE PEOPLE has defamed Sandra Hicks and called her a "ROYAL BITCH" and then wrongfully started to attack her and call her names, and when I stepped up to the plate, they resorted to name calling towards me. The blogger cannot or will not moderate his blog for reasons of his own insanity. I resent the fact that I am not 'crying over the wrong done me' and instead taking a stand against fraudulent con men or women, who will go on to find other victims, and they are crying about our database invading their privacy.
For the record Most marriages and DIVORCES are public records, and therefore are NOT private, so therefore your PRIVACY will not be invaded. It is public record....
So having stated the facts, they can continue to impose their so called liberalistic political views, and call victims of criminals crybabies, I for one resent being called a "Bitch". I am not a female dog, I am a human, and this puts me in different species than a female dog. I have free will and the ability to speak, and walk on two legs. We are the higher order of species on this planet due those characteristics.
Please read on for what they decided to publish in their blog.
Excerpt from the TO THE PEOPLE.com
"WHY haven't these idiots been flamed into the ground for purporting that the government should help screen their life partners? THis is what happens to people who are blazingly unattractive and settle on anybody who will pay attention to their externally and internally ugly selves. How about you don't just donate your poon to the first creepy bastard who will accept it and skip the government as the mediator of that transaction. Have a little self-worth and the right man might be easier to find than you think. I heart Cicero Peace Bitches."
For your information: I am not looking for MR. RIGHT or MR. WRONG, and I have more self-worth than the commentor has respect. These kind of racist and hateful comments are what keeps America from making progress in equality for all. Donna
